Ontario Bus Driver Knowledge Practice Test 2026 – All-in-One Study Guide for Exam Success!

The appropriate action when a passenger has a bicycle is to inform them of the bus policy regarding bicycles and assist them if it is allowed. Bus companies often have specific regulations concerning the transport of bicycles to ensure safety for all passengers and to comply with capacity limitations.

By informing the passenger of the policy, you are providing clear guidance and helping them understand what is permissible. If bicycles are allowed, offering assistance can enhance the boarding experience and ensure the bicycle is stored safely in accordance with the bus's requirements. This approach not only adheres to company policies but also fosters a cooperative and helpful atmosphere for passengers.

Other options do not provide the necessary communication or support needed when dealing with such situations. Simply allowing them to board without discussion may lead to confusion or violate regulations. Asking passengers to leave the bicycle outside could pose safety risks or inconvenience, while charging a fee might not align with the established policy, depending on the bus service regulations. Thus, option A is the most responsible and customer-oriented response.
